Gabriel Fernandes has been elevated to Market Head – Private Banking at IndusInd Bank, marking a key progression in his accomplished banking career spanning nearly 24 years. Based in Mumbai, Gabriel will be responsible for leading the private banking business for the region, with a focus on strengthening client relationships, expanding market presence, and driving sustainable growth.
A seasoned banking professional, Gabriel brings deep and diverse expertise across marine finance, construction equipment finance, NRI banking, retail branch banking, and private banking. His well-rounded experience and client-first approach position him to deliver comprehensive wealth and banking solutions while building strong, high-performing teams aligned with the bank’s strategic priorities.
Before this elevation, Gabriel served as Regional Head – Business Owners Group at IndusInd Bank for over a decade, where he played a crucial role in developing the bank’s business-owner and entrepreneur segment. His tenure was marked by consistent performance, portfolio growth, and long-standing client partnerships across complex and specialized financing domains.
Earlier in his career, Gabriel held leadership roles at Kotak Mahindra Bank as Area Manager and at ICICI Bank as Branch Manager, gaining strong exposure to sales leadership, branch operations, and relationship management. He is an alumnus of Atharva Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai.
