Braj Bhushan Jha has been appointed as Co-Chair of the South Asia Regional Interest Group at BUILA, taking on the role alongside his responsibilities as Regional Head at Bangor University. Jha has been a key member of the Global Engagement team at Bangor University, contributing to international student recruitment, market development and institutional partnerships across South Asia.
With more than 17 years of experience in international education, Jha has built extensive expertise across India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. His professional experience spans student recruitment, outreach, market development, institutional partnerships and the broader international education landscape, giving him a strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges shaping South Asian markets.
Before and during his tenure with Bangor University, Jha has worked with organisations including the University of Wolverhampton, IDP, SI-UK, Times Group, IC3 Movement and UVG Management Consultants LLP, an associate of UVG Group. His career across these organisations has involved engagement with students, institutions and education stakeholders across multiple international education markets.
In his new role at BUILA, Jha is expected to contribute to discussions around South Asian student recruitment, policy and regulatory developments, transnational education and sustainable recruitment practices. His experience across diverse South Asian markets will support conversations around evolving recruitment models and the changing international education landscape.
The appointment marks another step in Jha’s career in international education, adding a regional leadership responsibility to his experience with Bangor University, University of Wolverhampton, IDP, SI-UK, Times Group, IC3 Movement and UVG Management Consultants LLP. Through the South Asia Regional Interest Group, he will contribute to dialogue and knowledge-sharing on issues relevant to institutions and stakeholders operating across the region.
