Dr. Chetan Patil has been appointed as Head – Medical, Regulatory and PV at Novartis India Limited (NIL), taking on a strategic leadership role spanning medical affairs, regulatory strategy and pharmacovigilance. With a strong foundation in medicine and extensive pharmaceutical industry experience, he brings broad therapeutic expertise and a track record of leading medical and regulatory functions.
Prior to joining Novartis India, Dr. Chetan served as Consultant – Strategy, Medical, Regulatory and PV at ChrysCapital Investment, following a four-year leadership journey with Menarini Asia-Pacific, where he held roles including Head Aesthetics, Head Medical & Regulatory Affairs, and Head Medical Affairs. Earlier, he served as Senior Manager – Medical Affairs at Wockhardt, where he established and led the Medical department for its Regenerative Unit.
His earlier career includes medical affair roles at Eisai Pharmaceuticals India, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, and Alkem Laboratories, along with experience as a Medical Writer, and Medical Undergraduate Tutor at GMC Aurangabad. At Eisai, he led the CNS portfolio and contributed to the launch of the first-in-class antiepileptic drug Perampanel (Fycompa).
Dr. Chetan holds MBBS and MD qualifications, complemented by deep therapy-area expertise spanning Neurology, Diabetes, Cardiovascular, Immunology, Dermatology, Aesthetics, Nutrition, Gastroenterology and Anti-Infectives. He has also contributed to 40+ publications in national and international indexed journals, reflecting his strong focus on medical science, evidence generation and scientific communication. At Novartis India limited, he is positioned to leverage this multidisciplinary expertise to strengthen medical, regulatory and pharmacovigilance leadership.
